In 2003, Filipos Koukis, took his vast experience as an agriculturist, and his twenty-five years experience in wine distribution, to create a new winery. He planted two hectares of Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc in Argalisti Pilio in Central Greece. These vineyards have enjoy a very unique terroir. They are located at an altitude of 500 meters, and face the Aegean Sea. During the hot summers of this region, the sea breezes create a unique environment for these two varietals and give these wines the ability to mature over ten years. Platanon Oros is a very highly regarded Syrah in the Greek wine market with the ability to mature for over twenty years.
